Don't Wait for Perfect
Last week I had the opportunity to speak at a women's startup conference about building a business with limited resources.
As I was preparing for the talk, I found myself reflecting on the journey Vince has been on over the past six years.
One of the key messages I shared was simple: don't wait for perfect.
If I'd waited until everything was perfect before starting Vince, I probably never would have started at all.
The first products weren't perfect. The packaging wasn't perfect. The website wasn't perfect.
Like any small business, we've learned a lot along the way.
Every version taught us something. Every challenge helped us improve. Every customer interaction gave us an opportunity to do better.
The truth is that Vince only exists today because customers were willing to support us while we figured things out.
For that, I am incredibly grateful.
Looking back, it's easy to focus on where a business is today and forget how many small steps it took to get there. Progress rarely happens all at once. It happens one decision, one improvement and one lesson at a time.
The more I thought about it, the more I realised the same principle applies to healthy eating.
So often we think we need to make a dramatic change. We tell ourselves we'll start eating healthier on Monday. We'll cut out all the treats. We'll meal prep every meal. We'll completely overhaul the way we eat.
And then life gets busy.
The reality is that lasting change usually comes from small, sustainable improvements.
An extra serving of vegetables at dinner.
A more balanced lunch.
Choosing a meal that makes it easier to get some goodness into your day.
Small steps may not feel exciting, but they add up.
That's something I've always believed, and it's one of the reasons Vince was created in the first place.
Vince isn't about perfection. It's about making it easier to add more vegetables to your day, wherever you're starting from.
Meeting people where they're at has always been part of our philosophy.
You don't need to change everything overnight.
Start with one small improvement.
Then another.
And another.
Those small steps have built Vince, and they can help build healthier habits too.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
