6 Years of Vince | From Whangārei to 36,000kg of Veggies on Plates

6 years on the shelf… and still going strong

Six years ago Vince first landed on a supermarket shelf.

I still remember what a big day that was.

So much had gone into getting it there. Years of recipe testing, figuring things out as we went, and a whole lot of hope that this little idea could become something real.

Standing there and seeing Vince on shelf felt huge.

But really… the journey was only just beginning.

Six years of learning (and a few washing-machine moments)

People often say starting a business is a rollercoaster.

That’s definitely true… although some days it feels more like being thrown around in a washing machine 😄

Over the past six years I’ve learned more than I ever expected about food manufacturing, retail, packaging and growing a business.

There have been exciting wins.

There have been hard days.

And plenty of moments where I’ve wondered how many hats one person can wear in a day.

But through it all, the reason Vince exists hasn’t changed.

Helping make healthy meals feel easier.

More vegetables on the table.

Less fuss.

Real ingredients.

Food that works in real life.

36,000kg of veggies on plates

One of the coolest things to reflect on is how many vegetables Vince has helped get onto plates.

Together with our customers, we’ve now helped put over 36,000kg of vegetables on plates across New Zealand and Australia.

That’s roughly the weight of six elephants 🐘

And I’m incredibly proud of that.

Because behind every kilo is a meal made a little easier.

A busy weeknight.

A camping trip.

A quick lunch.

A family finding a simple way to enjoy more vegetables.

That’s exactly what Vince was made for.

From humble beginnings in Whangārei

Long before Vince, there was our little café in Whangārei.

Then meal delivery.

Then granola.

Healthy food has been a big part of my life for over 25 years.

One of my favourite memories is my girls helping me at a night market back in the granola days.

Olive & Ash… the namesakes behind our company – Olivia and Ashley.

They’ve grown up alongside the business in so many ways, and it feels pretty special looking back on how far we’ve come together.

Each chapter has looked a little different.

But the heart behind it has always stayed the same:

Creating healthy food that makes life easier.

Looking ahead

As special as it is to look back, I’m also really excited about what’s ahead.

I’ve been working on some new ideas behind the scenes and can’t wait to share them with you soon.

There’s still so much more we want to do.

More families to reach.

More veggies to get onto plates.

And plenty more ahead for Vince.
