But Vince wasn’t born out of a business plan. It was created in a kitchen - by a chef and mum with over 20 years of experience feeding people real, wholesome meals. What made it special? Trampers were the first to notice.
It started on the trail
When early batches of Vince were shared with people heading into the bush, something kept happening.
“This tastes way better than the usual freeze-dried stuff.”
That comment came back again and again.
And that’s when we knew we were onto something.
The Vince difference: flavour comes first
Every Vince meal starts with fresh, locally grown New Zealand vegetables. We gently cook them in small batches, just enough to soften and develop flavour.
Then comes the seasoning. Herbs and spices are added at just the right time to bring the vegetables to life - allowing the natural flavours to deepen and balance.
We don’t rely on sauces to mask blandness. We build flavour from the ground up.
Gently air-dried in New Zealand
Once the meals are cooked and seasoned, we use a closed-loop air-drying system developed here in Aotearoa. It’s a low-temperature process that removes moisture slowly - helping to preserve:
